The Cornish Factory that manufactures our Victorian brass beds & iron beds

was set up back in the 1990s to maintain the production of Iron & brass beds in the UK. Using traditional casting techniques and fixings we use quality materials to create beds that are indistinguishable from original antique brass beds & Victorian iron beds.

The company was so successful it was purchased by a major bed & mattress manufacturer in the mid nineties and then sold on again to a multinational bed and bedstead manufacture in 2002. Unfortunately these owners concentrated solely on manufacturing 2 or 3 beds for the wholesale market and some leading high street brands including Laura Ashley and Marks and Spencer. In 2004 they took the commercial decision to take production abroad and shut down the factory in Cornwall. As retailers of these beautiful brass & Iron bedsteads we managed to save the factory's closure by negotiate a new lease on the factory in Jan 2005 and the purchase of the remaining tooling and brass and iron materials - within weeks of its closure with 8 previous members of staff We re opened the factory reverting to the full range of brass and iron beds and bedsteads that the company was famous for custom manufacturing each brass bed & iron bed to each customers individual order.

We maintained a trade division manufacturing beds under its established brand name “Enchanted House” which we sell to selected shops across the UK. But we also developed a mainly separate range of beds to sell as the Heritage bed company using our showrooms in Bristol and Cornwall. With our experience in retailing we have complimented the heritage bed companies traditional metal bed range with an exciting a unique collection of wooden beds and mattresses, even adding some of our favourite contemporary bed collections to our range.
